Coach JT's journey in track and field began over 40 years ago when he laced up his spikes for local track meets. A proud alumnus of Shawnee Mission South, where he excelled in track, football, swimming, and basketball, Coach JT understands the transformative power of track in enhancing athletic performance across various disciplines. As a Raider, he embraced the ethos of "Nothing Greater than a Raider."
Taking his talent to the next level, Coach JT became an All-American athlete at Butler County Community College before further honing his skills at the University of Kansas. His athletic journey culminated in a successful football career at Washburn University.
Today, Coach JT is not only a seasoned athlete and coach but also a proud father of four. His love for track and field extends beyond personal accomplishments, driving him to establish and lead Hot Feet Track Club. Since its inception in 2010, the club has become a symbol of success, training athletes of all ages and skill levels to reach their full potential.
Coach JT envisions taking the Hot Feet brand to the national level, providing athletes with unparalleled training and exposure. Introducing Grant Zebold, a seasoned track coach whose journey in track and field began in the sun-kissed city of San Diego, California. Grant's passion for the sport ignited in 7th grade, and from that moment, he embraced the track with determination and enthusiasm.
Joining a competitive club at a young age served as a catalyst for Grant's love of track and field, setting the stage for success not only in his primary sport but also in various athletic endeavors. As a high school athlete, Grant left an indelible mark on San Diego's track scene, holding section records in the 110m hurdles, 300m hurdles, and decathlon. His prowess extended to the Junior Olympic level, where he medaled in an impressive seven different events.
Post high school, Grant took his talents to the University of Nebraska, where he joined the Huskers Track team as a decathlete and 400m hurdler. His dedication to the sport and versatility on the track were evident as he navigated the challenges of combined events and individual disciplines.
In 2017, Grant graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Biological-Systems Engineering, showcasing his commitment to academic excellence alongside his athletic achievements. Today, he is a licensed Professional Civil Engineer at Lamp Rynearson, bringing his analytical skills and disciplined approach to his professional life.
With a remarkable 14 years of track and field experience under his belt, Grant is well-versed in both individual and combined events at every competitive level. Whether you aspire to compete in multiple events or dream of becoming a heptathlete/decathlete at the collegiate level, Grant is your go-to coach. His expertise, combined with a passion for nurturing athletes, makes him an invaluable asset to our coaching team.

Meet Nick Bartels, an integral member of our coaching team with a passion for track and field that extends from his own competitive days to guiding the next generation of athletes. Originally hailing from Papillion, NE, Nick's journey in athletics began at Papillion-LaVista High School, where he was a standout in football, wrestling, and track.
In 2013, Nick left an indelible mark on the Nebraska high school track scene. Competing in the state track meet, he showcased his exceptional talent by securing three All-Class Gold medals in the 110m hurdles, 300m hurdles, and as a member of the 4x100m relay team. Notably, the 4x100m relay team, anchored by Nick, set the Nebraska High School state record—a remarkable achievement that still stands today.
After graduating from Papillion-LaVista High School, Nick took his talents to the University of Nebraska, joining the Huskers Track team. His focus was on the long sprints, 110m hurdles, and 400m hurdles, demonstrating his versatility on the track. In 2018, Nick graduated with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, showcasing his commitment to both academics and athletics.
As a valued member of our coaching staff, Nick brings a wealth of experience, a competitive spirit, and a dedication to the holistic development of our athletes. His journey from high school accolades to collegiate success and professional achievements serves as an inspiration to those under his guidance.

Ricky Dunigan, is a seasoned track coach with a passion for nurturing young talent and fostering well-rounded athletes. Currently in his 4th season with Hot Feet, Ricky specializes in working with athletes aged 14 and under, prioritizing a holistic approach to their development.
Dedicated to creating a foundation for success at a young age, Ricky emphasizes the importance of providing athletes with a comprehensive understanding of various track and field disciplines. His coaching philosophy centers around Multis, allowing young athletes to experience a diverse range of events and techniques that seamlessly complement each other.
Ricky is not only committed to the physical aspects of coaching but also places a strong emphasis on creating a safe and supportive environment for his athletes. He is SafeSport Trained, ensuring that the well-being of the athletes under his guidance is of the utmost priority. Additionally, Ricky is a Certified USATF Official, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the track.
In the four years since Ricky joined Hot Feet, his coaching prowess has led to remarkable success. Under his guidance, athletes have clinched over 20 National Championships and earned more than 50 All-American titles across prestigious competitions such as AAU and USATF Junior Olympics, as well as their respective Indoor Championships.

Coach Moorea
(High Jump)

Moorea Long was a high jumper at Baylor University and currently holds the school record for the second highest jump in indoor history and the seventh highest jump in outdoor history. While earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations and Communication, and her Master’s Degree in Sport Management, Long jumped her way onto the podium four times at the Big 12 Conference Championships, for both indoor and outdoor season.
In addition to her time as a Baylor Bear, Long also was a 2016 National Champion figure skater, earning a spot in the US Figure Skating Hall of Fame.
Long grew up in Paola, Kansas and spent all four years as a high jumper for the Paola Panthers, also running the 200m and 4x400m relay. She earned a medal her four years at the Kansas State High School Track and Field Championship as a high jumper, and also got 3rd place in the 4x400m relay. She broke the Paola High School high jump record three times in a row at the Frontier League meet and also holds the Frontier League high jump record.
Long loves to work with athletes of all ages. From just beginning on the track to breaking records and earning a scholarship, Long wants to help athletes reach their full potential.
Today, Long works for the Kansas City Chiefs in the Fan Experience Department as the head of the Premium Clubs at Arrowhead Stadium.
Long also does private lessons in addition to working with Hot Feet and would love to help your athlete discover their hops and clear higher bars!

Coach BURNS

Coach Burns began coaching high school track while still in college over 20 years ago and since then has coached sports all over the world. Since then has worked with adults on being better coaches and athletes improve technique. She has trained athletes as young as 5 on developmental skills and adults past their 50s training for senior games. Melissa holds her doctorate in Sport and Performance Psychology, a Level 1 USATF certification as well as Level 1 certification in USA Paralympic TF. She can provide private coaching lessons in Sport Psych, Javelin, Pole Vault, Long, Triple, and High Jump or combo practices for multi-sport athletes. She will give insight into the mental aspects of your event and encourage everyone to improve no matter where they are starting from.

Coach Nate

Coach Houser is a hammer thrower working to qualify for the upcoming Olympic Trials in 2021. He graduated from Midland University as a 5x All-American who set 3 different school records and is currently 6th on the all-time list for hammer throwing in the NAIA. As the throws coach for Ottawa University Kansas. In his 3 seasons with OU he produced countless personal bests, 13 All-Conference performances, 1 Conference Champion, 3 school records, and 2 National Championship Qualifiers.
Currently Cocch Nate is the Throws Coach at Mid America Nazare and his women’s teamr recently won 2024 conference championships.

Coach Ryan

Ryan Gress is in his 2nd season with Hot Feet Track Club. He oversees shot put and discus throwers. Ryan graduated from Fort Hays State in 2015 with a Masters in Exercise Science. He currently works full time as a Financial Planner at CommunityAmerica Credit Union. After competing for Fort Hays State, Ryan completed an internship at Altis under the guidance of Olympic medalist John Godina. Gress returned to Hays and was the throws coach for Hays Striders Track Club. There he coached Levi Armon to back to back Kansas 1A shot put championships, including the 1A state record in 2017.
Ryan, a native of Seneca, KS, currently resides in Kansas City, MO with his wife Meredith.

Hanna's journey in the world of running began in 2013 when she joined Hot Feet Club. Born with a passion for sports and an indomitable spirit, Hanna's athletic prowess quickly became evident during her high school years at Plattsburg High School.
Throughout her time at Plattsburg, Hanna not only displayed her versatility by participating in Volleyball, Basketball, and Soccer, but she also left an indelible mark on the track. Finishing high school with an impressive 12 All-State honors, Hanna's crowning achievements include clinching 5 State championships in the 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 4x200 relay, and 4x800 relay.
Eager to continue her pursuit of excellence, Hanna Williams took her talents to Missouri Western State University, where she became a valued member of the Griffons Track team. Her main events included the 200 meters, 400 meters, 600 meters, 4x100 relay, and 4x400 relay. At the collegiate level, Hanna's star continued to rise as she earned the title of 6-time All-Conference athlete and a remarkable 3-time All-American in the 400 meters. Adding to her list of accomplishments, she also secured 1 All-American recognition in the 4x100 relay.
The accolades didn't stop there for Hanna Williams. In 2022, she was honored with the prestigious USTFCCCA All-Region 400-Meter Run award, a testament to her exceptional talent and dedication to the sport.
Beyond her achievements on the track, Hanna has transitioned into the role of a track coach, sharing her expertise and passion for running with aspiring athletes. Her commitment to excellence and determination serves as an inspiration for those looking to pursue their own athletic dreams.

The following year, Coach Micaiah reached new heights by qualifying for the Regional VI Indoor Championship and competing at the NJCAA Championship, showcasing exceptional prowess in the shotput category on the national stage.
Recently serving as a Track & Field Coach at PHS (Placeholder High School), Coach Micaiah extends his passion for the sport to a new generation of athletes. A believer in personalized guidance and a holistic approach to coaching, Coach Micaiah's expertise extends beyond field events, offering valuable assistance in both sprint and distance training.
Beyond the high school track, Coach Micaiah also plays a pivotal role as a Speed & Agility Coach and trainer at iRise Performance, situated at 5350 Martindale Rd.
